1. Pick Up Your Entryway
Start with your entryway so guests are greeted by a welcoming space. Then remove any clutter near the door and make room for guests to kick off shoes and hang up coats and purses.
2. Tidy The Kitchen
Most gatherings involves food and chances are your guests will end up in the kitchen at some point. So start by washing and putting away any dishes in the sink and clear off your countertops of all unnecessary items. This will instantly create the the feeling of a cleaner and organized kitchen.
3. Vacuum
You might not have time to mop the floors (because who does) before guests arrive, but a quick vacuum job can go a long way. Focus on the main areas in your house or the ones you know guests will be in. Also, using a cordless vacuum lets you easily move from room to room without wasting time on tangled cords.
4. Speed Clean The Bathroom
Believe me, your guests will thank you if you take a few minutes to clean the bathroom they will most likely be using. Our quick cleaning tips are to apply toilet bowl cleaner first, then start on other surfaces while it sanitizes. Use a glass cleaner to remove smudges and water spots from the mirror, and wipe down the countertops and sink using an all-purpose cleaner, or the glass cleaner if you’re really in a hurry. Once the other surfaces are clean, grab the toilet brush, give the bowl a quick scrub, and flush. Lastly, put out fresh hand towels, plenty of hand soap and extra toilet paper.
5. Do A Quick Declutter
Declutter your home's main areas with this simple trick…grab a basket and fill it with any items that don't belong in each of those room. If you don't have time to put things away in their rightful places, stash the entire basket in a spot where guests aren't likely to look, such as your bedroom closet or laundry room. Then take care of the clutter the next day, when you have more time.
6. Fluff The Living Room
Instantly give your living room a refresh by simply fluffling up your couch pillows. Our trick to giving pillows a plump look, strike the top of each with a karate-chop motion, yep, thats it! If you have time fold extra blankets and drape them nicely over the back of the couch or on a wall ladder and if you have pets do a quick fur pick up with the lint roller.
Now go enjoy your party! xx
