End of Summer Style Refresh

Squeezing in one last trip or event before the end of the season or Tempted to buy something new with summer sales happening everywhere? WE UNDERSTAND.

We know it can be tempting to shop sales at the end of season and crave that revamp before the end of the season But don’t buy something just because its on sale, or for one specific event. (those are the items that we find collecting dust in the back of your closet) See below for some of our key tips for end of summer shopping and also some great pieces to consider if you are needing a little end of the season retail therapy.

  1. Buy transitional pieces. There are plenty of fun summer prints and patterns out there on sale, that are perfect for today! Instead, try looking for pieces in color ways and silhouettes that can transition to fall with simply adding a booite or sneaker and warm outer layer.

  2. Just because its on sale, does not mean you need to buy it. We can not emphasize this one enough!! We live in a time of abundance and accessibility but that doesn’t mean just because we “can” we “should.” Sales in itself create the illusion that we have to hurry or we will lose something.

  3. NEED vs want. Before buying anything, here’s a simple trick I use: Think of 4-5 items you could wear that piece with from your existing wardrobe. If you can do that it will likely be a very useful purchase! (or if you already have that exact same style from multiple brands, then you probably don’t need another one)

  4. Do a little research. Regardless of where you find the item, try typing in the brand/style online and search images for inspiration on how to wear your new piece! Chances are you can find the same style/concept in your own closet. No *extra purchase necessary. We like using Pinterest or LTK for more style ideas.

  5. Quality over quantity’ When possible we suggest purchasing from brands or sites that have an ethical responsibility to our climate and community. This includes brands like Jenni Kayne, Mate the Label and Reformation, a locally owned business like Blvd or even a high end consigner like The Revury
