Spring Footwear Trends and How to Organize Them

If the recent warm weather has you wanting to refresh your wardrobe, consider starting from the ground up! Footwear is one of the easiest ways to transition your style from winter to spring effortlessly. see some of our favorite Spring ‘23 trends plus tips on how to organize them!

From practical and minimalist to fashionable comfort, this season’s must-have shoes all lean toward a twist on the classics. From embellished ballerina flats and metallic slides to sporty sneakers and classic black mules this season’s trends have us excited for the sun. No matter what piques your interest, we’ve got you covered.

Before purchasing any spring trend this season, here are a few shopping and organizational tips to consider….

1. Do I have anything similar in style/color? It can be helpful to pull out your spring and summer shoes and take inventory before buying anything new. IF you love a new shoe and already own something similar that’s okay! We advise you to pick a colorway to coordinate with your existing wardrobe that the other style can’t. Think bright or bold if your other tone is neutral!

2. What do you NEED vs want? We all see shoes we would like to wear regularly, but this doesn’t mean we need to buy them when we see them! When considering a purchase there’s a simple trick to use: Think of 4-5 items (and events) you could merchandise those shoes with from your existing wardrobe. If you can do that it will likely be a very useful purchase!

3. Spend on items that can have years of wear and enjoyment. We all love a good new trend for the season. However, for those trendy seasonal items, we suggest purchasing at a lower price point. That way after a season or two you can comfortably part with the piece if it’s no longer a part of your style.

4. One in, One Out Rule. Regardless of what you buy, try to donate one pair of shoes you no longer wear with each new purchase. “One in, one out” is a rule you should remember and practice for all new purchases as it keeps your closet streamlined, organized, and full of only items you love and wear.

5. Seasonal Storage As the weather warms up, swap your cold-weather shoes with your spring/summer styles. Having these shoes front and center or at eye level in your closet means you’re more apt to wear and prevent over-purchasing because you can see exactly what you have that’s appropriate for the season.
