This course will be sure to elevate your spring cleaning like never before…so don’t miss out!

Plus, to get you started, here are our 8 TIPS to help prep your closet for springtime.

ONE - Edit your clothing, shoes and accessories.

If you didn’t wear it last spring, you aren’t going to wear it this Spring. Get. Rid. Of. It. by selling, consigning or donating them to charity.

TWO - Organize your closet by categories

Group all shirts, denim, dresses, jackets, etc. together as a category and then organize by color.  It is much easier to pull together outfits if everything is in color order.

THREE - Fold heavy items

Heavier items that take up closet space such as sweaters and jeans are sometimes better stored on shelves in your closet. Store Sweaters up high as the weather warms up to make more space for seasonal items.

FOUR - Take all dry cleaned items out of the baG

…and off the wire hangers as soon as you bring them home. Replace all clothes onto whatever matching hangers you are using in your closet. You can also return the wire hangers to your dry cleaner so they can be reused.

FIVE - Store your accessories by category

Purses store best on shelves while scarves work well in baskets.  While S or wall hooks are great for storing items such as belts or larger totes.

SIX - Use garment bags to store seasonal items

Use garment bags for items not used often such as evening attire, furs, jackets or suits during the Spring/Summer months.

SEVEN - Remove shoes from shoe boxes

There is no benefit to keeping shoe boxes unless you want to waste space! Store shoes on shelves, shoe racks or clear matching shoe boxes. for the most usable storage. This keeps them in sight so that you will know what you have.

eight - Maintain your closet organization

Daily maintenance rituals are the best trick to less frequent and easier closet organization in the future. That way you won’t fall back into a disorganized state and have to start the whole process over.
