Dorm Organization + Checklist

Do you have a child heading off to college this month? Here is our comprehensive “off to college” printable sharing our tips and favorite products for optimal dorm room organization and decor!

Dorm Room Must Have’s

Wall Hooks —- Hooks aren’t just for hanging robes on the back of your bathroom door. Use hooks all around your door room to add more storage and decor. Create a hat wall, or use for extra purse storage. Use back of door hooks for your backpacks or jackets if your moving to a colder climate. Even use wall hooks inside your closet to store necklaces and bracelets.

Underbed Bins —- Long shallow bins are perfect for storing less used items in your dorm room. We suggest using them for extra sheets and towels. Or for storing seasonal shoes and clothing that may not fit in small dorm room closets.

Paper Storage —- Loose papers and homework can be contained and managed by using decorative magazine holders. Get a few, one for homework to be completed, one for completed work and one random to - do items.

Important Documents —- Most college kids haven’t had to keep track of their important documents until now. Clear zip envelopes are key to keeping copies of ID’s, insurance cards, birth certificates and banking info all in one spot that can be easily kept in any dorm desk drawer. It’s never too early to start teaching them these tips.
