How to Stay Organized… Once We Leave

So you’ve just had a room (or rooms!) organized with us at Lifestyled, now what? Sure, there’s nothing better than finally seeing style and function when you walk through the door, but the goal is to find simple ways to maintain it. Whether it’s easier to have us to do regular upkeep or you take on the project yourself, here is a list of ways to stay organized and keep that happy, satisfied, “aha” feeling even after we leave.

ONE IN, ONE OUT - You’ve heard us say this before, but the easiest way to stay organized is to keep the clutter at bay! Its a simple rule to follow. When you purchase a new item make sure you donate or toss something you no long love or use. One In, One Out!

END OF DAY EDIT - At the end of each day, do a quick sweep of the house, putting away left out items, tossing any trash, clearing off the kitchen counters and fluffing the couch pillows. It only takes a few minutes but makes the next morning much less stressful. Pro Tip: Keep a decorative basket on hand to fill throughout the day of items that you need to put away when do have an extra minute!

RELABEL + REIMAGINE - We know organized spaces evolve and change as quickly as our kids change their minds. Therefore simple tasks like relabeling or swapping out a basket can make a huge difference. Don’t be afraid to adjust your organization as you and your families needs change.

DISCARD - It’s not always easy to get rid of things you’ve spent money on. Start with small items like free samples or your junk drawer. If an item hasn’t been used in months (or even days) its okay to toss it. You’ll be surprised at how quickly the clutter disappears when you get comfortable and consistent with discarding items you don’t need.
